The short version

This site has no accounts, no logins, and no contact forms. The calculators run entirely in your browser — the numbers you type never leave your device. The data processing that does happen comes from two places: hosting logs (below) and advertising (Google AdSense).

The data controller for this site is Bradley Taylor, reachable via the contact page.

What we collect

Nothing through the site's own features. We don't operate a backend, don't set our own tracking cookies, and don't collect names, emails, or calculator inputs. If you email us, we see what you send and use it only to reply. One honest clarification: our hosting provider does process server logs containing IP addresses and browser user agents (see "Hosting logs" below), and under GDPR that is personal data for which we are the controller — so "we collect nothing" would be overstating it. Those logs are used only for delivering the site and preventing abuse, and we do not use them to identify visitors.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to serve ads, which is how a free site covers its hosting and domain costs. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and device identifiers) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud.

Your choices in the EEA and UK (GDPR), and in Switzerland (nFADP)

Switzerland is not covered by GDPR — Swiss visitors are protected by the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP) — but Google's EU user consent policy covers the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland alike, so visitors from all three see the same consent message (served through a Google-certified consent management platform, Google's own "Privacy & messaging" tool) before any advertising cookies are set. You can decline, consent, or change your choice later; declining limits ads to non-personalized ones. Storing or reading advertising identifiers on your device happens only with your consent, per the consent message; consent is also the legal basis for personalized advertising, while non-personalized ad delivery and fraud prevention are described in the consent message itself.

You also have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection over personal data processed about you. For hosting logs, contact us as the controller via the contact page. For advertising data, Google's processing is involved and the links above are the fastest route — but you can always contact us and we'll help direct the request.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

We don't sell personal information ourselves. To the extent the CCPA/CPRA applies, third-party advertising cookies may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising; you can opt out via the ad-settings links above or your browser's Global Privacy Control signal, which Google processes as restricted data processing in the US states where that applies (see Google's documentation). Local storage

Calculators may use your browser's local storage to remember preferences (like units or your last-used material) on your own device. This data never leaves your browser and you can clear it any time through your browser settings.

Hosting logs

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard server logs — IP address, user agent, pages requested — as our processor, to deliver the site and mitigate abuse, retained per Cloudflare's privacy policy. As noted above, this is personal data and we are the controller for it. We don't access or use these logs to identify visitors, and rights requests concerning them can be made via the contact page.

Children

This site is a machining reference intended for a general and professional audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes (like adding a new third-party service) will be noted here.
